“Follett Digital Resources is grateful to be sponsoring the Publishing Expo as well as sharing our vision for effectively reusing content and digital delivery,” Merriman said. “Publishers need to think of their products not as one-off print products or textbooks, but as sets of educational content that can be customized, arranged, repurposed and reused in a variety of formats.”

A 20-year veteran of the K-12 publishing industry, Merriman has held senior e-Learning management positions at leading educational publishers, including Holt, Rinehart and Winston, and Mcmillan/McGraw-Hill, and has worked as a consultant to numerous K-12 publishers seeking to address market opportunities through technology and e-Learning.
“One sure way to succeed in the digitally focused 21st Century education marketplace is to develop processes and strategies to effectively reuse content and digital delivery,” Merriman said. “We’ll explore how publishers can effectively utilize content to maximize their investments, whether customizing textbooks for specific state requirements, or repurposing content into CDs, eBooks or formats accessible through iPods, cell phones or other digital devices.”
